She waved with a flourish
A flag caught in the breeze
On a stormy winterโs day
Eyes like diamonds
Reflecting the sunshine
Of a cloud laden day
Her laughter splattering
Like graffiti on the subway wall
Scarring the sullen dull grey
As she threw back her hood
Abandoning pretence, her hawklike glare
Piercing souls strangled by consumerism
Delicately her tongue caressed cold lips
Exposing sharp white teeth
Which dieted on complacency
Before striding long legged
Through stalked human traffic
She was here to live

Chilling.
