Fandango’s Flash Fiction Challenge #163

The comfortable silence was broken by a heavy sigh.

“Good job,” There was a hint of regret in ther tone, “I think it’s time you went out on your own.”

“Really? You really think so?”

A slight smile curved their lips at the enthusiasm, “I’d hardly say it if I didn’t mean it, would I?”

“But what will you do?”

“Do? Retire, travel, read, take up a hobby.”

“A hobby?” The other’s astonishment made his lips twitch, “You wouldn’t.”

“No,” He conceeded, “But I had a vision of a new world called Earth.”

“That sounds ominious.”

So had his vision.

      1. Sorry I missed this comment! Also totally motivated, dunno why. Anxiety and laziness, I guess. I have a friend I communicate with who helps me keep on track and get through these dry times.
