I heard a voice calling out my name from inside the house, and when I opened the door I came to an stand still, utterly dumbfounded.
“We’ve called you here today …”
Well yes they had called, somehow.
“To lodge a complaint, regarding the deterioration in our living conditions.”
Mystified I frowned, “You have?”
“Yes,” The spokesman continued, “What you do directly impacts on us and we’re not happy.”
This delegation made that completely clear.
“We want it removed immediately.”
“Removed?”
“The bug zapper.”
“The bug zapper,” I repeated eyeing with incredulously horror.
“Yes, us spiders need to eat too.”

I’d just cringe every time I heard a zap but my mother refused to turn it off. …

Well, that’s a perspective I didn’t expect. She should have denied their demand. Maybe they’d then just find another place to build their webs.

Or cats. You know how they don’t follow rules but do whatever they want.
