He could feel the beads of perspiration forming on his forehead as he slowly knelt, and though his body wanted to thud to the floor, he kept his movements deliberately slow. There was no need to scare her.
She had quickly become his everything. He woke for her in the morning, he rushed home to her in the evening. It was her favourite meal, it was bedding picked because it was so soft for her, he even made sure the heating and cooling was perfect just for her.
She was everything, she was his tarantula and he loved her.

Shudders! I used to be a total arachnophobe but I used my camera and love of research to banish the fear a long way. I just need to hold a tarantula to prove and beat it properly now.
