She’d inherited the property from a distance relative but as soon as she stepped over the threshold it had felt just like coming home and any thought that this place was just a house had disappeared instantly.

She’d been instructed that she must spend a year within these four walls, so she’d cleaned and tidied, all the time pondering the fate of her predecessor, whose body had never been located.

She sighed, in two days time it would be a year but she wouldn’t leave, she would write her will and then sleep, they probably wouldn’t find her body either.
