Time passed and wounds healed,
Her Mother had told her so.
But she still bled,
The blood bright and vivid,
As her joy leeched away.
She had known from the start,
It was preordained.
One would always leave,
But the photos remained bright and vivid,
As her happiness leeched away.
Starless nights and sun filled days,
Shared and enjoyed.
Her heart still beat and
Her memories were still bright and vivid,
But no more did she wish to recall.
She had given her heart,
It had been accepted in return.
Then her companion died.
Her pain was requisite.
